AREA 405 and its Studios are a project I began in January, 2001 and completed in March, 2022.
My first curatorial endeavor was in 1995, working with over 25 artists. I was still new-ish to Baltimore, having moved on a whim to make art believing that there was space to do it.
Creation through curating and building community is intrinsically part of my artistic practice. By encouraging and enabling others to create work, I can be a catalyst for and where things happen. AREA 405 and the Studios is a platform where this takes place.
I want to thank some very special folks for reminding me that this is part of my practice as much as the sculptures and drawings and installations.
